Mütercem is a translation, transcription and proofreading platform for scientific modern and ancient languages. It consists of nine portals; you open the portal that fits your language, provide your text and get the result on the same screen.

There are separate portals for scientific article-thesis-report translation and proofreading, Turkic languages, Ottoman Turkish, widely used living academic languages, Anatolian and Eastern Mediterranean languages, ancient-classical languages, dead languages and religious and literary texts. Supported language pairs are listed on each portal's own screen.

You can paste text, upload a Word or PDF file, use images and photos, or provide an audio recording. Every portal includes OCR; text in images and scanned documents is recognized first and then translated. Supported file formats and sizes depend on the tool and are shown on that tool's screen.

Translations are produced by machine translation and AI; you don't place an order and wait for a human translator. Results appear on your screen immediately; long jobs such as document translation run in the background and are added to your history when finished.

Handwritten text recognition (HTR) and OCR are used for historical manuscripts and printed documents. The recognized text is transcribed into Latin script and translated into the language you choose.

You upload your article or paste your text; DeepL Write finds spelling, grammar and style errors and suggests corrections while preserving meaning.

No. All nine portals come as one package; you use your package credits in whichever portal you need.

If your institution has a Mütercem subscription, signing up with your institutional e-mail adds you to the institutional plan automatically. If not, you can request a subscription from the Institutional Use page.

No. The texts and documents you upload are sent to the relevant engine solely to perform the translation, transcription or proofreading you requested. All transfers are TLS-encrypted; Mütercem does not use your content to train models or share it with undisclosed third parties.

Yes. Every job you run is kept in your account history; you can reopen and download the results.

Click 'Forgot Password' on the sign-in page and enter your e-mail; a reset link will arrive in your inbox within a few minutes.
